The Triad of Authentic Àkòṣe
For an Àkòṣe to possess genuine spiritual efficacy, three elements must converge with absolute precision:
- The Correct Elements (Èròjà): Freshly harvested leaves, roots, barks, seeds, and sacred powders identified in the corresponding Odù Ifá.
- The Consecration Ceremony: Burning, pounding, or steeping the elements into sacred soaps (Ọṣẹ Àkòṣe), powders (Ìyẹ̀rẹ̀ Àkòṣe), or elixirs (Àgbo).
- The Activation through Ayajo: Chanting the precise archaic stanzas and incantations that command the spirit of the plants to fulfill their primordial pact.
